AHMAD YUSOF COACH KEDAH YANG BARU

Ahmad Yusof Appointed Kedah Head Coach

ALOR SETAR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Former Pahang coach Ahmad Yusof has been appointed Kedah head coach, replacing Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah who resigned last month.

Kedah Football Association (KFA) deputy president Datuk Wira Syed Unan Masri Syed Abdullah said today the appointment of Ahmad, 49, was effective on Monday.

He said Ahmad was given a one year contract to guide Kedah in the Super League, FA Cup and Malaysia Cup for the next season.

KFA had also terminated the contract of five players; Rafiz Abu Bakar, Mohd Afif Amiruddin, Mohd Azrul Ahmad, Manopsak Kram and Mohd Nazmi Baharom.

Syed Unan said they were dropped from the Kedah football squad due to their poor performance last season.

Ahmad said he was prepared to shoulder the heavy responsibility of regaining Kedah's lost glory following its failure to defend the Malaysia Cup.

"I will do my best to restore Kedah as an elite team," said the former international.
